Bizarre! Goalkeeper Sent Off For This Reason

Goalkeeper Max Crocombe was bizarrely sent off earlier today for urinating during his Salford City team’s 2-1 win at Bradford Park Avenue.

Crocombe, 24, was given his marching orders with three minutes remaining in the National League North clash.

Speaking about the bizarre incident, Park Avenue secretary Colin Barker said: “He was told by the steward twice not to do it and he went ahead and had a pee.”

Barker added:

“He went to the side of the stand as I understand it. I didn’t actually see it, but the referee definitely sent him off for it because he was alerted to it by his linesman.”

The New Zealand player later apologised as he said he was in an “uncomfortable position” and thereafter made “an error in judgment”

Writing via his Twitter account, Crocombe further added:

“My intention was never to offend anyone and I’d like to apologise to both clubs and sets of supporters.”
