Belgium Beat Rivals England To Top Group G

Belgium have confirmed their status as Group G winners ahead of England at the ongoing FIFA World Cup tournament in Russia after they defeated the Three Lions 1-0 at the Kaliningrad Stadium in Kaliningrad.

Former Manchester United forward Adnan Januzaj scored the only goal of the game on 51 minutes in spectacular fashion to give his side an important victory.

With the result, Belgium have now won all their group games for a second successive World Cup tournament after the Red Devils recorded nine points from three group matches at the last edition in Brazil.

In the other Group H game, Fakhreddine Ben Youssef and Wahbi Khazri scored in the second half to propel Tunisia to a 2-1 win over Panama.

Yassine Meriah’s first half own goal had earlier given Panama a 31st minute opener before the Tunisians overturned the result in the second half.

The result ends Tunisia’s 40-year wait for a World Cup victory since a 3-1 win over Mexico at 1978 tournament in Argentina.

Belgium will now face Group H runners-up Japan in the last 16, while England do battle with Colombia at the same stage.
