Bayern Munich are the new favourites to sign Arsenal midfielder Aaron Ramsey when his contract expires this summer, according to reports.
Ramsey will leave the Emirates Stadium this summer when his current deal with the Gunners comes to an end after the club refused to meet his wage demands.
The news has reportedly interested Bayern, who could make a move for Ramsey during the January transfer window.
According to the Sunday Express, Bayern have moved ahead of the likes of Premier League giants Manchester United, Liverpool and Chelsea in the queue of clubs keen on Ramsey.
Under FIFA rules, clubs from foreign leagues are allowed to open contract talks with players six months before their deals expire.
This means Bayern have a huge head start over the English teams, should they decide to make a move for the Wales international.
The Express claim that Bayern are indeed interested in Ramsey, who was on the bench for Arsenal’s Premier League game against Liverpool.
Ramsey was sent on with 17 minutes to play, as Alexandre Lacazette scored late to earn a 1-1 draw against the Reds.
Ramsey is allowed to have a pre-contract agreement with Bayern in January but it seems Bayern might need to sign him outrightly in the winter transfer window to wade off interests from other European rivals.
