Bayer Leverkusen Hail Boniface’s Nigeria Debut In 6-0 Win Over Sao Tome

Bayer Leverkusen have hailed their striker, Victor Boniface, following his debut for Nigeria in the 6-0 win over Sao Tome and Principe in Super Eagles’ last Group A game of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying series, reports.

The Jose Peseiro-led team walloped Sao Tome and Principe 6-0 on Sunday, September 10 at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium, Uyo.

Napoli striker Victor Osimhen scored the first goal of the game in the 13th minute and Atalanta winger Ademola Lookman sent a blazing shot past the opposition goalkeeper to make it 2-0 14 minutes later.

Taiwo Awoniyi made it 3-0 for Nigeria with an acrobatic finish six minutes after the second half resumed.

Boniface was subbed on for Taiwo Awoniyi in the 62nd minute of the encounter.
