Balogun Back In The Fray As Wigan Reinforces With Fleetwood Friendly

Leon-Balogun-Wigan

Wigan Athletic’s Leon Balogun returned to action against Fleetwood in a behind closed door friendly at the DW Stadium on Tuesday.

The Super Eagles defender is believed to have picked an injury in training ahead of the English Championship game against Huddersfield Town on Sunday which ended 2-0 in favour of the Latics.

He is now fit to face Blackburn Rovers on Saturday after the prep game in which he played alongside “Jones, Weir, Naismith, Pearce, Macleod, Evans, Mlakar, Gelhardt, Jacobs, Garner, Obi, Dobre, Crankshaw, Baningime” according to a tweet on Wigan’s official Twitter handle.

The result of the friendly was not posted.

The 31-year-old hooked up with Wigan for a six-month loan deal after battling with fitness and scarce game time at Premier League club Brighton & Hove Albion.

He has now made 6 league appearances for Paul Cook’s side since his arrival on transfer deadline day.
