Bale’s agent insists nothing has changed with the winger in Real Madrid

Following Zinedine Zidane’s questioning of Gareth Bale’s focus at Real Madrid, the Welshman’s agent has insisted his client his “100 percent” committed to the club.

Jonathan Barnett has come to the defense of Bale after Zidane’s comments following Real’s defeat to Rayo Vallecano on Sunday.

Bale has often been linked with a move out of the Spanish capital since he suggested his willingness to leave at the end of last season, having played a starring role in a third consecutive Champions League title win for Real Madrid.

The Wales international has had an underwhelming season at Madrid and played the full 90 minutes in their 1-0 loss to Rayo, but Zidane told the media afterward that he was unsure if Bale was focused.

In the light of this comment, Bale’s agent Jonathan Barnett was quick to come to the defense of the winger, saying he remains keen to end his career at the Santiago Bernabéu.

“Gareth is 100 percent committed to Real Madrid,” Barnett told BBC Wales Sport. “Nothing has changed.”

Bale has scored just eight league goals this term from a total of 29 matches.
