German midfielder Bastian Schweinsteiger and retired tennis player Ana Ivanovic are reportedly expecting their first child. The couple got married in July 2016 after almost two years together.

Ivanovic caused a wide spread of rumours that she was pregnant after a picture surfaced of her visiting the gynecologist few months ago. The former tennis World Number One announced her retirement from the sport in December 2016, stating that she was no longer able to play to her high standards and win big tournaments, meaning it was time to move on from professional tennis and start a new chapter in her life. She was also plagued with reoccurring injuries during her 14-year career.

Schweinsteiger who is the fourth most-capped German player of all time retired from international football after the UEFA Euro 2016 in France. The former Bayern Munich and Manchester United midfielder currently plays for Major League Soccer side Chicago Fire.

According to reports, a close family member disclosed that Ivanovic is already four months into her pregnancy.  Schweinsteiger and Ivanovic are yet to confirm the reports, but congratulatory messages to the couple have flooded social media.
