AUDIO: Sports Minister Hails Super Eagles Performance Against Cameroon

Minister of Youth and Sports Solomon Dalung has hailed the Super Eagles for their superlative performance against the Indomitable Lions of Cameroon over two legs in the 2018 World Cup qualifiers and boasted that the best is yet to come from the team.

The Eagles followed up their 4-0 trouncing of the African Champions in Uyo on Friday with an impressive 1-1 draw against the Cameroonians in Yaoundé on Monday, to consolidate their lead on Group B with 10 points, 6 above second-placed Zambia.

Speaking after the draw in Yaounde, Dalung stated that aside qualifying for the World Cup, the 3-time African Champions are poised to make a great impact at the tournament in Russia next year.

“I told the world that they should watch out for Nigeria because having been in limbo for some time, we are coming with a new variety of play of Nigerian football and it continues to unveil in series,” Dalung stated.

“What you saw here (Yaounde) is different from what you saw in Uyo and as we continue, we’ll continue to unveil them stage by stage.

“But our determination to make very, very great impact in Russia (2018 World Cup) cannot be challenged easily.”

Nigeria will qualify for the 2018 World Cup in Russia if they avoid defeat at home against Zambia in October.
