AUDIO: Playing Against Kano Pillars Is Not Special – Ogunbote

Facing Kano Pillars in Sunday’s mouth-watering Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) clash is like any other game, according to the Technical Adviser of Enyimba, Gbenga Ogunbote.

Seven-time champions Enyimba confront Pillars, who boast of four NPFL titles, at the UJ Esuene stadium in Calabar in a Match Day 32 encounter as the league enters the home stretch.

The fixture has been dubbed the star-match this weekend considering the pedigree and rivalry between the two sides, but Ogunbote is of the opinion that the remaining seven matches this season are equally as important.

“We have seven games to the end of the season and every game at this stage is a big game,” the former Sunshine Stars said. “So we are seeing the game (against Kano Pillars) like just any other game. I must confess to you every game at this stage is big.

“Every match we play now is important; more importantly the one we will be playing tomorrow (Sunday). The moment we play it, it brightens our chances of getting into the continent. That makes it very, very important.

“Like I said, at this stage where you can count the games with your fingers, you should be able to know that every match you play now is important and tomorrow is inclusive.”

In an exclusive chat with www.busybuddiesng.com, the Enyimba gaffer stated that his team is ready and fired up for the eagerly anticipated clash against Pillars.

“We have the game tomorrow (Sunday) and everybody is in top gear waiting for tomorrow (Sunday). And we’ve done everything humanly possible within the confines of the rules of the game.

“I can say we have done everything. All we are just waiting for is tomorrow (Sunday),” Ogunbote declared.

The Peoples Elephant will remain 4th on the NPFL table even with a win against the ‘Sai Masugida’ on Sunday while 10th-placed Pillars would move up on the log with an unexpected victory against Enyimba.
