AUDIO: Imama, Dikko Speak As CHAN Eagles Emerge Winners Of NPFL Invitational In Kano

The Nigeria Professional Football League invitational tournament came to an end on Sunday in Kano with the CHAN Eagles emerging overall winners with a 3-2 win over MFM FC in a final match played at a half packed Sani Abacha Stadium.

Anthony Okpotu was the stand out performer as his brace helped the Eagles soar past MFM FC in a hugely contested match.

The Lobi Stars player scored his first of the evening in the 45th minute – a well time volley before rightfully picking his spot to slot in his second goal in the 69th minute. Kingsley Eduwo made sure of the win in 78th minute with the third goal for the Eagles, before a late surge from the Lagos based team; Jonathan Zikiye and Chuka Uwaga scoring in the 86th and 90th minute respectively to ensure a respectable score line.

Speaking after the game, Super Eagles assistant coach, Imama Amapakabo despite being pleased with the result, expressed disappointment in the level of opposition presented by the other teams based on preparations in comparison to what the CHAN Eagles had coming into the Invitational.

Chairman of the League Management Company Alhaji Shehu Dikko spoke on the difficulty in players’ selection ahead of the biennial tournament in Morocco.
