UEFA Europa League (UEL) Champions Atletico Madrid have completed the signing of Colombian defender Santiago Arias from PSV Eindhoven.
Arias, 26, joins the Spanish giants from the Dutch champions after putting pen to paper on a five-year deal.
His transfer was announced by Atletico Madrid via their website on Tuesday night.
He replaces Croatian international defender Srme Vrsaljko, who has sealed a loan move to Italian Serie A outfit Inter Milan.
Santiago Arias was named the player of the year in the Dutch Eredivisie last season as reward for helping PSV win a 24th league title.
He scored 10 goals and provided 21 assists in 173 appearances in the colours of PSV Eindhoven.
Arias was part of the Colombia squad that reached the round of 16 at the recently concluded FIFA World Cup tournament in Russia before they were beaten on penalties by England.
He played in all four World Cup games in his second tournament after the 2014 edition in Brazil.
Santiago Arias has 45 caps for the Los Cafeteros.
