2018 Commonwealth Games gold medallist Tobi Amusan has won Team Nigeria its first gold medal at the ongoing African Senior Athletics Championship in Asaba after she emerged winner of the 100m hurdles final.

Amusan clocked 12.86 secs to win the gold medal in the event ahead of South Africa’s Rikennete Steenkamp who bagged the silver medal with a time of 13.81 secs and bronze medal winner Rosvitha Okou of Ivory Coast.

The 21-year-old adds the CAA African Senior Athletics Championship gold medal to the 2015 All-Africa gold medal in the same event and the Commonwealth Games gold medal she won earlier this year in Gold Coast, Australia.
