Asaba 2018: ‘Getting A Silver Medal Is A Huge Achievement’ – Thapelo (Audio)

South African sprinter Phora Thapelo has lauded his silver medal feat in the final of the 400m race at the ongoing African Senior Athletics Championship taking place at the Stephen Keshi Stadium in Asaba, Delta State.

Thapelo finished the race in 45.14s to take silver behind gold medallist Baboloki Thebe of Botswana (44.81s), while Nigeria’s Chidi Okezie clinched bronze for the home nation with a time of 45.65s.

Speaking on his silver medal feat after the race on Friday, Phora Thapelo said: “I feel very great and am extremely motivated.”

“I can’t wait for my next competition because getting a silver medal is a huge achievement.” He concluded.
