Aruna Quadri Usurps Omar Assar To Become Africa’s Number One

Aruna Quadri is the new number one on the African Table Tennis scene after the Nigerian displaced Omar Assar of Egypt in the latest ranking released on Monday.

According to the ITTF World Ranking for July 2018, Aruna Quadri is the best ranked African player in the world.

He moved up two places from 22nd to 20th with 10234 points in the latest ranking from world table tennis ruling body, ITTF, ahead of Omar Assar (10233 points).

Aruna Quadri returns to the top 20 and Africa’s number one after he made history as the first Nigerian to do so in January 2018.

Fan Zhengdon of China retains the number one spot for a fourth successive month for the first time in his career.
