Arsenal Beat London Rivals Chelsea To Setup Carabao Cup Final Date With Manchester City

Arsenal are through to the Carabao Cup final after they defeated London rivals Chelsea 2-1 on aggregate in their semifinal tie.

With the first leg clash at Stamford Bridge deadlocked at 0-0, Belgian star Eden Hazard put Chelsea ahead in the second leg match at the Emirates Stadium with seven minutes gone before Antonio Rudiger put through his own net to level proceedings for the hosts.

Chelsea were in driving seat with the scoreline at 1-1 but all that changed after the interval when Swiss international midfielder Granit Xhaka pounced on good work from Alexandre Lacazette to put the Gunners ahead.

Arsenal thereafter held on for the remainder of the game to seal a 10th Wembley appearance in about four years for their French manager Arsene Wenger.

They will face Premier League leaders Manchester City in the final on Sunday, February 25 in what is the first major silverware of the season.
