Arjen Robben: Bayern Are Not Good Enough For The Bundesliga Title

Arjen Robben claims Bayern Munich are not currently good enough to think about winning the Bundesliga this season.

For so long the dominant force in Germany, Bayern Munich has started the new campaign in uncharacteristically poor form.

Their 3-2 defeat by Borussia Dortmund earlier in the month saw them slump to fifth in the table – seven points behind Lucien Favre’s Dortmund – and Robben believes that the Bavarians do not deserve to be mentioned as title contenders at present.

”We are not allowed to talk about titles at the moment because we are just not good enough,” he told ARD, via Bild.

Robben also defended under-pressure manager Niko Kovac despite their underwhelming start to the season.

”He is very, very ambitious and works hard, but you have to say clearly that being Bayern Munich coach is not easy,” the Dutchman added.

Robben, 34, missed the defeat to rivals Borussia Dortmund with a knee injury and is still rated as doubtful for the game against Fortuna Dusseldorf taking place at the Allianz Arena right after the international break.
