Argentine Football Icon Diego Maradona Denied US Entry

Argentine football legend Diego Maradona has been denied entry into the United States of America (USA) after he publicly insulted the country’s president, Donald Trump, on television.

Maradona, who is the manager of United Arab Emirates (UAE) side Al Fujairah, had planned to travel to Miami in a bid to take part in a court case involving his former wife Claudia Villafane.

The 1986 World Cup winner called Trump a ‘chirolita’, a slang word referring to a ‘puppet’, during an interview with Venezuelan network ‘TeleSur’.

His lawyer Matias Morla will now represent him at the hearing in Miami.
