Angel Gomes Shortlisted For Golden Boy Award

Angel-Gomes-Golden-Boy-Award

Manchester United’s Angel Gomes has been shortlisted alongside 100 footballers under the age of 21 for the Golden Boy Award.

Italian outlet Tuttosport came up with the award in 2003, to decide the best young player in Europe, playing in one of the top tier leagues, and it has become one of Europe’s most prestigious awards.

Gomes featured in 900 minutes of action for Manchester United’s youth and senior teams in the unconcluded 2019/2020 season and was mostly deployed as an attacking midfielder.

The 19-year-old registered four goals and provided two assists for the youth team but was unable to make any marked impact when called upon to play for the senior team.

He is currently a subject of discourse after a footage from 2016 of him being allegedly healed by a Nigerian Prophet, TB Joshua surfaced on Twitter.

The London youngster has played for England’s U16, U17, U18, U19 and U20 national teams.
