Andy Murray Steps Up Hip Injury Recovery Ahead Of US Open

World number 1, Andy Murray is battling against time to be fit for next months US Open, as he steps up recovery from his hip injury.

The 30-year-old Brit crashed out of Wimbledon in the quarter final stage, losing to America’s Sam Querrey after he visibly struggled through the game due to a bad hip injury.

Murray posted on his Instagram page, a video showing him hitting the ball against the wall and also attending a pool rehabilitation session with his physio, as he hopes to be fit enough for Flushing Meadows.

Murray is scheduled to play at the Rogers Cup in Montreal and also in Cincinnati before the US Open, with Rafael Nadal bound to replace him as world number 1 should he miss out of the US Open.

Elsewhere, Novak Djokovic will miss the US Open due to an elbow injury. This was revealed by his Serbian doctor, Zdenko Milinković, who examined the 2015 champion.
