The League Management Company (LMC) have announced that the season-ending Super Six playoff of the abridged 2018/19 Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) season will hold at the ‘Soccer Temple’, Agege Township Stadium, Lagos, home ground of MFM FC, and will begin on June 4, and conclude on June 12 this year.
The Super Six playoff will be played in a round robin format, giving the clubs to opportunity battle each other once in order to determine the League champions and three out of four representatives for next season’s CAF competitions within five matchdays.
In the draws held on Tuesday afternoon in Abuja, Matchday 1 of the Super Six tournament features fierce rivals Kano Pillars and Akwa United go tête à tête and an Oriental derby between 2015 champions Enyimba Int’l and 2016 champions Rangers Int’l.
The LMC have also set up a contingency measure for the tournament to be played in Katsina at the Muhammadu Dikko Stadium, should the Lagos venue become unavailable.
