Alireza Signs For Brighton In Club-Record Deal

Iranian international winger Alireza Jahanbakhsh has signed for Premier League side Brighton and Hove Albion from AZ Alkmaar.

The 24-year-old joins the South Coast club from the Dutch Eredivisie outfit after putting pen to paper on a five-year contract for a club-record fee of £17m.

Alireza has 41 caps for Iran and was part of the squad that crashed out of the just concluded FIFA World Cup tournament in Russia.

He featured in all of the three Group B games for the Asians.

Speaking on the new acquisition, manager Chris Hughton told the club’s website that: “His versatility will increase our attacking options within the squad.”

“Ali is a player that we have been aware of and monitored for a few years.

“I am now very much looking forward to working with him.” He concluded.
