Former Arsenal and Barcelona midfielder Alexander Song has signed for Swiss Super League club Sion on a free transfer.

Song, 30, joins Sion after putting pen to paper on a two-year deal.

His transfer was confirmed by the club on Tuesday evening via social media.

Sion are currently fifth on the league table after four top flight games in Switzerland.

The 49-cap Cameroon international star has been a free agent since he left Russian Premier League outfit Rubin Kazan in January.

He has been training with Sion for several weeks before his deal was confirmed by the club on Tuesday evening.
