Alex Nwora Praises D’Tigers Stars After Big Win Over Uganda (Video)

D’Tigers head coach Alex Nwora has singled out three of his players for praise after his team thrashed Uganda 109-66 in the first game of the second leg, first round of the 2019 FIBA African qualifiers.

The result of the game at the Indoor Sports Hall of the National Stadium in Lagos in Friday night ensured that D’Tigers became the first African side to book a place in the 12-team second round of the qualifiers with two Group B second leg games (vs. Rwanda and Mali) still to be played on Saturday and Sunday.

In addition, it also took the team’s record to 4-0 in the African qualifiers.

Alex Nwora singled out the trio of team captain Ike Diogu, Ben Uzoh and Augustine Okosun for praise while he was speaking with reporters during his post-match press conference.

Ike Diogu emerged the topscorer for the Nigerian team with 24 points, while Jordin Mayes led the scoring for Uganda with 18 points.
