Akwa United’s CAFCC Opponents To Hit Uyo On February 7

The CAF Confederation Cup (CAFCC) opponents of Nigerian Professional Football League (NPFL) leaders Akwa United, Hawks FC of The Gambia, are expected to touch down in the Uyo capital of Akwa Ibom ahead of their first leg clash scheduled for the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium on February 11.

This was disclosed in a letter signed by the club’s Secretary General, Mr Sadibou Kamaso.

It was also revealed that an advance delegation will arrive Nigeria two days (February 5) before the main delegation.

The delegation, made up of 18 players and nine officials will hit Lagos later onboard A-Sky Airlines by 15.05 pm.

The Promise Keepers will be solely responsible for the transit accommodation of the Hawks in Lagos as well as the airlifting to and from Uyo as stipulated in the CAF rule on destinations beyond 200 kilometres from Lagos and Abuja.

The return leg is scheduled for Banjul on Wednesday, February 21.
