2017 Aiteo Cup champions, Akwa United will commence preparations for their 12th appearance in the Nigeria Professional Football League on Monday 19th August 2019, the club’s official website says.
After an unfruitful 2018/2019 season, the club officials and players alongside dispersed for a break on June 21st.
According to the Club’s website, a press release signed by the club’s media officer, Mfon Patrick mandated players and officials to be in camp on Sunday ahead of the team’s first pre-season training session at the Godswill Akpabio International stadium.
The Uyo-based side are still without a coach as Brazilian Rafael Everton returned to his home country, consequent of a sore relationship with his employers.
