Akwa United Announce Six New Signings Without Contract Details

Akwa United’s aim for a top finish has been backed by action as the club announced the arrival of six new players expected to add reinforcement to the squad for the rest of the 2020 Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) season.

The club made the announcement through Twitter on Friday.

“We are glad to announce the arrival of our mid-season signings,” the tweet read.

The players added are Olisa Ndah, Ukeme Williams, Ikechukwu Nwani, Ifeanyi Eze, Salisu Saidu and Arinze Nwangwu according to the club’s media handle.

The only information provided about the players were their playing positions.

Salisu Saidu (Forward)

Arinze Nwangwu (Midfielder)

Olisa Ndah (Central Defender)

Ikechukwu Nwani (Forward)

Ukeme Williams (Midfielder)

Ifeanyi Eze (Forward)

BusybuddiesNG is yet to establish the nature of the players contract as it is a norm for clubs in the NPFL to announce new additions without details of their contract.

The club which started the season under Coach John Obuh on the lower half of the log regained confidence under new coach Kennedy Boboye winning five straight games before sharing spoils with Plateau United.

That fairytale run encountered a dip after the 2017 Aiteo Cup Champions lost to Kwara United and Kano Pillars to drop to seventh place.

Boboye’s boys will be up against Heartland FC at the Nest of Champions and will be boosted by the return of Akarandut Orok who has being the highlight of Akwa United’s resurgence  this season. He however was not available in the last two games due to an injury picked up against Plateau United.
