African Wins Best Player Award In Europe

Moroccan star Hakim Ziyech has been named Ajax player of the year for the third time in four seasons following a brilliant run of form for the Amsterdam side.

Since the award’s inception in 1993, no player had won it three times, let alone three times in a row.

Ziyech created as many as 21 assists and scored eight goals last tern to emerge as Ajax’s best player.

The 27-year-old will be officially unveiled as a Chelsea player on July 1 after signing a four-year deal worth €40 million earlier in January 2020.

Last month, the Eredivisie season was declared null and void because of the coronavirus pandemic, and with that decision went any chance Ziyech had of bidding farewell to Ajax by helping them secure a second straight title.
