Several African female referees are presently in the Cairo capital of Egypt for Video Assistant Referee (VAR) technology training ahead of the 2019 World Cup in France.

VAR has been on the front burner of men’s football for the better part of the year.

It had earlier been confirmed that the technology would be used at this summer’s FIFA Men’s World Cup in Russia.

It’s therefore not surprising that VAR would also be employed at the FIFA Women’s World Cup in France.
