Enyimba forward Abdulrahman Bashir is confident that the two-time African champions can go all the way by winning this year’s CAF Confederation Cup (CAFCC).
Bashir made this known in a chat with footballive.ng after the Nigerian Professional Football League (NPFL) outfit defeated Ivorian side Williamsville 1-0 in a Matchday 3 clash played at the Adokiye Amiesimaka Stadium to go top of Group C.
In his words, the former Lobi Stars and Nasarawa United star said: “We wasted scoring chances and were able to dominate the field, but what matters to us is the maximum points which we got.”
“The team has resolved to go as far as possible in the CAF Confederation Cup. We have the machinery to emerge as champions in the competition. It’s an achievable task.
“I think we have what it takes to continue to perform on the continent. This is in Enyimba’s DNA, which is winning big tournaments.” He concluded.
Enyimba will face Williamsville in the return leg on Matchday 4 at the Stade Felix Houphouet Boigny in Abidjan on July 29.
