Abdel Bah Is CAF’s New Secretary General

Abel Moneim Bah is the new Secretary General of the  Confederation of African Football (CAF), Africa’s apex football body announced on Tuesday.

Bah takes over from fellow Moroccan Mouadh Hajji who resigned yesterday.

“The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has announced its unanimous approval, in consultation with the Emergency Committee, that Abdel Moneim Bah has been appointed as Secretary General (Acting Secretary General).” A statement on CAF’s official website read.

The statement said Bah who is currently the Chairman of CAF’s Marketing Committee will act in the interim until the body’s next Executive Committee meeting.

He  was appointed to head the Marketing Committee since June 2018 and will combine the role with his new appointment.
