Technical Adviser of Enyimba Usman Abd’Allah has hailed his players’ mentality following their 2-0 win against Kwara United in a match Day 15 fixture of the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) in Aba on Sunday.
Forward Stanley Dimgba scored twice as the 7-time champions claimed all three points at the expense of relegation-threatened Kwara United. The result moved Enyimba to 2nd spot on the Group A log with 24 points from 15 games, after suffering a setback a week earlier following a shock goalless draw at home against Bendel Insurance.
“I’m happy with the mentality of the players because after what happened last week, they were able to compose themselves and then come back and prove that they can do it,” Abd’Allah said. “It’s a very good comeback by the players.
“We did a lot of counseling and meetings, and there was a lot of support from the management and the supporters.
“The team came back with this fantastic result. I am happy with it. I hope we should keep on going with unbeaten record like that. This is our 9th unbeaten match. It’s a record and we hope to go on.
“The most important thing is to get to the playoffs, and we will by God’s grace,” he concluded.
Enyimba will next face 4th placed Lobi Stars on Match Day 16 in Makurdi at the weekend.
