Lobi Stars midfielder Kelly Kester says he’s “honoured” to be joining 4-time Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) champions Kano Pillars ahead of the upcoming season.

The former Enyimba and Akwa United combative midfielder has agreed a 2-year deal that will keep him with the Sai Masu Gida till 2021.

He will be formally unveiled by the 2019 AITEO Cup champions in the coming days.

“I am really honoured to be playing for one of the biggest clubs, not just in Nigeria, but in Africa,” the 27-year-old defensive midfielder told www.busybuddiesng.com.

Asked what he intends to achieve with Pillars, the ex-Shooting Stars player said: “It’s simple; win more laurels, help the team win more trophies. Hopefully, try and get the team back to the continent next season. Probably win more league trophies and FA Cup (Aiteo Cup) trophies.”

Last season, Kester helped former club Lobi Stars reach the group stage of the CAF Champions League.

A seasoned campaigner in the NPFL, Kester has also featured for Nasarawa United, Shooting Stars and defunct Sharks in the top flight.
