Real Madrid Consider Bruno Fernandes Swoop In Place Of Paul Pogba

Real Madrid are considering a move for Sporting Lisbon midfielder Bruno Fernandes over fears they will be unable to secure the signing of Paul Pogba, according to Dailymail.

Zinedine Zidane’s side have been heavily linked with Manchester United star Pogba throughout the transfer window, but it is anticipated that the Frenchman would cost around £153million.

Correio da Manha reports that Fernandes, who would cost £63m, is a much more feasible option.

Fernandes, who previously attracted heavy interest from United, produced some outstanding performances for Sporting last season – he scored 32 goals and provided 18 assists in 53 appearances across all competitions.

The Portugal international has started the current campaign in stellar form, too, scoring once and setting up four goals in three league games so far.

Los Blancos struggled as they were held to a 1-1 draw at home to Real Valladolid on Saturday, and the arrival of Fernandes would provide them with an additional injection of quality.

So far this summer, Real have brought in Eden Hazard, Luka Jovic, Eder Militao, Ferland Mendy and Rodrygo.
