Spanish Forward Nolito Closes In On Sevilla Switch

Spanish international Nolito has moved a step closer to securing a transfer back to his native country after former UEFA Europa League (UEL) champions Sevilla announced that he is expected in Seville for his medical this week.

Nolito moved to Manchester City last summer from Spanish outfit Celta Vigo in a £13.8m deal and immediately settled into his new surroundings. He however fell out of favour with manager Pep Guardiola some months into the season and didn’t regain his place in the starting XI till the end of the season though he still managed six goals in 30 appearances for the Citizens.

With three years still left on his Manchester City contract, Nolito was keen to return home as he disclosed that his daughter didn’t like life in England. This led to an £8m agreement between City and Sevilla for his transfer subject to medical and paperwork.
