The £50m trio of Yannick Ferreira Carrasco, Nico Gaitan and Jose Fonte suffered a horrific debut in the colours of their new club Dalian Yifang.

Yifang were beaten 8-0 by Shanghai SIPC in their opening game of the new Chinese Super League (CSL) season.

Former Chelsea star Oscar produced an impressive performance for the hosts as he scored a hattrick in addition to further goals from Chinese midfielder Wu Lei (three goals), Hulk and Lu Wanjun.

The shocking result condemns Yifang to the bottom of the Chinese Super League table while their opponents are at the summit.

Carrasco and Gaitan joined Yifang from Spanish side Atletico Madrid in a £44m deal while Fonte left West Ham United for China in a £4.4m transfer.·
