2021 Nigeria Volleyball Premier League: Youthful Kada Emeralds Set Pace

Kada Emeralds made it two wins on the bounce in the women’s category of the ongoing 2021 Nigeria Volleyball Premier League in Ilorin with victory over Nigeria Police Force on Friday.

Kada Emeralds edged COAS Spikers 3-2 (20-25, 25-21, 15-25, 25-14, 15-12) in a keenly contested match on Thursday and followed up with another surprise win against Nigeria Police Force 3-2 (17-25, 25-18, 25-15, 24-26, 15-8) on Friday.

Kada Emeralds head coach, Vincent Unogwu speaking to the media after their victory on Friday, attributed their good start to their two-month preparations for the league.

He also praised the Kaduna State Volleyball Association chairman Musa Nimrod for supporting his young side.

He said, “Recording two consecutive victories in the league means a lot to the team; the win is to show that we are in the league to make a mark and not to participate.

“The team has been in camp for over two months preparing for the league and you can all see the product of adequate preparation.

“I want to thank the Kaduna State Volleyball Association led by Engineer Musa Nimrod for his unflinching support to this young side. We promise not to disappoint the good people of Kaduna state.”
