2020 WAFU B U-20 Tournament: Benin Republic Replaces Togo As Hosts

The Benin Republic has replaced fellow West Africans Togo as hosts of the WAFU B U-20 tournament, media officer of Nigeria’s U20 men’s team Andrew Randa confirmed on Tuesday.

The competition will now hold from 5-20 December after being moved from its original 18 November to 2 December date.

Meanwhile, the WAFU B U17 has now hold from to 5-20, January 2021 in Benin Republic.

“The WAFU B U-20 qualifiers earlier scheduled to start on 18th November 2020 in Togo will now take place from December 5 to 20 and will be hosted by Benin Republic,” Randa wrote on Twitter.

Nigeria’s Flying Eagles are currently in camp in Abuja in preparation for the tournament which also serves as qualifiers for the U20 Africa Cup of Nations scheduled for Mauritania.

Nigeria who are coached by Ladan Bosso will face Ghana and Ivory Coast in Group B when hostilities kick off.
