2019 AITEO Cup Final: Dennerby Begins Hunt for National Team Players in Kaduna (AUDIO)

KADUNA – Super Falcons head coach Thomas Dennerby says he will be looking to identify players who can fit in with his vision as defending champions Rivers Angels take on Nasarawa United in today’s Aiteo Cup Final at the Ahmadu Bello Stadium, Kaduna.

Rivers Angels are going for a fourth trophy on the trot and a ninth title in ten years but must overcome 2005 finals and the national team coach says he would be on the lookout for new players to incorporate into the national setup.

“Normally, when you’re here as a head coach and not as a coach for the team, you are more looking for individuals that you think can fit into your own playing vision and keep on working with that. That’s the most important to me, to detect new players,” Dennerby told busybuddiesng.com.

Dennerby also said he anticipates a balanced and “fair game” in the women’s final with both teams boasting players who are mainstays of the national side.

“I hope it’s going to be fair game, we know already that it’s two good teams with a lot of players that have been involved in the national team and with the camp of the national team, so I actually want to see a very good game tonight.”
