2019 AFCON Qualifiers: CAF Moves Super Eagles Match Against Seychelles

Super Eagles to play south american teams

The Confederation of Africa Football (CAF) has decided to move the final 2019 African Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifying match between Nigeria and Seychelles in Group E forward.

Goalball reports that the dead rubber match between the Super Eagles and the Seychelles national team will now be played on March 22 instead of March 23, 2019, with the Stephen Keshi Stadium in Asaba the Delta State capital as hosts.

Reports indicate that the change in date was to enable the Nigerian squad enough time to acclimatise and loosen up before their international friendly match against The Pharaohs of Egypt on March 26.

Gernot Rohr, the Super Eagles Technical Adviser, has revealed that the coaching crew and the Technical Department of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) will only invite the fittest and in form players for the two games between Nigeria and Seychelles and Egypt in March.

“We will invite the fittest players in the next games against Seychelles and Egypt and the best ones will play,” Goalball quotes the Franco-German.

“We will base our invite on what they are doing with their clubs and we know what they did with us and we are not forgetting it.”
