2018 World Cup Qualifying Wrap (CONCACAF): US Thrash Panama To Boost Faltering Hopes

The United States of America (USA) boosted their chances of booking a place in Russia 2018 after they thrashed rivals Panama 4-0 at home.

They had started the qualifiers on a poor note but the team has recovered  well to move closer to a spot at next summer’s World Cup.

Borussia Dortmund star Christian Pulisic and Jozy Altidore (2 goals) were on the scoresheet for the Americans, who have now leapfrogged Panama into 3rd place (the final automatic qualification sport).

Still in the region,  Mexico sealed top spot on the league table with a 3-1 win over Trinidad and Tobago. New summer signing for London club West Ham United, Javier Hernandez ‘Chicharito’ was one of the scorers for the 2-time World Cup hosts.
