2018 Wimbledon Open: Murray Avoids Top Seeds Federer, Nadal In First Round Draw

Former world number one Andy Murray won’t face the top two seeds, Rafael Nadal and Roger Federer, in the first round of this year’s Wimbledon Open after the draw took place on Friday.

The 156th ranked player will face Frenchman Benoit Paire in the first round of he decides to feature as he’s still working his way back to full fitness.

World number one Rafael Nadal was drawn against Dudi Sela of Israel, while world number two Roger Federer take on Serbian Dusan Lajovic in what would be his 20th Wimbledon appearance.

In the women’s draw, the biggest news is that former world number one Serena Williams, who’s seeded 25th will face Arantxa Rus of the Netherlands in the first round.

The Grand Slam tournament starts on Monday, July 2.
