Roger Federer was at the peak of his powers as he helped Switzerland to a dominant win over Japan in Group B of the 2018 Hopman Cup at the Perth Arena in Perth, Australia.

Federer defeated Yiuchi Sugita 6-4 6-3 in their singles match before teaming up with Belinda Bencic in the mixed doubles.

The tennis legend and Bencic saw off Naomi Osaka and Yiuchi Sugita 2-4 4-1 4-3 in their mixed doubles clash to make it a comprehensive 3-0 win for Team Switzerland at the tournament.

Belinda Bencic had earlier beaten Naomi Osaka 7-5 6-3 before the aforementioned mixed doubles match.

Switzerland will next face Russia on Tuesday in their second Group B game.
