2018 CHAN: CAF Sets New Inspection Visit Date Following Political Unrest In Kenya

The Confederation of African Football, CAF have set a new date for the facility inspection visit to Kenya ahead of the 2018 Championship for African Nations (CHAN).

Last weekend, CAF canceled the visit which was initially scheduled for 7th September to 12th September 2017 due to the political and security situation in the country following the annulment of President Uhuru Kenyatta’s re-election by the Supreme Court of Kenya last Friday.

According to the new development, CAF will now send an eight-man inspection delegation to Kenya on Monday, September 11, and depart the East African country on 18th September 2017.

A statement credited to Communications Director Barry Otieno reads: “The CAF team will arrive on Monday, September 11 and will be here all through to September 18.

“It will be led by Omari(CAF second Vice President) and will also include departmental heads who will come in to assess whether all aspects of the tournament are okay.”

The 2018 CHAN would take place in Kenya From January 11 to February 2.
